Blown Away

Yesterday Filly and Foal participated in our third outdoor market of the summer, at the brand new Parkdale Flea. The weather was beautiful for most of the day, with the exception of a few moments where I thought my whole tent was going to take flight, and the half hour after the sale the when the whole sky opened up. But by the end of the day, I was the one that was blown away (pun intended) by how lovely it's been to talk face to face with customers, and other vendors, and I feel like I'm learning so much. Thanks everyone for helping make these experiences so valuable, and for all the help from good friends and family :)

Mummy Sainte-Marie

Check out this great blog post by my friend, Alex Mlynek, for Today's Parent, about how they should start showing breastfeeding mothers on Sesame Street again. After watching the clip Alex posted of Buffy Sainte-Marie nursing her son, Cody, I found this other sweet video of Buffy singing to him on the show. What a couple of cuties!

Baby Camp

This is my friend Ruby, and her little son Casper. Ruby lives in Australia, and until recently I had only known her as my facebook pen pal, and through her amazing blog. But when the chance came up to drive to Montreal this weekend to meet Ruby and her little family I had to take it! We spent most of the time sitting in the park with our mutual friends enjoying/complaining about the heat and watching the babies be cute. Maddie is almost exactly a year older than Casper, but since they are both the same size, both smiley, happy, and adorable, we've arranged a marriage.

Photo Ghosts

I recently bought a point-and-shoot camera at Value Village. It had a roll of film that was still in it, but I could swear that I used that roll up and developed it already. I was using it as a tester, to make sure the camera actually worked, and I fully expected there to be some double exposure. But the result was a whole roll of perfectly clear test shots of badly framed buildings and strangers with their dogs. So I was pretty surprised when my next roll came back with the images of photos I had taken of Madeline sharing space with... well, strangers and their dogs. I'm slightly disappointed because it looks like there would have been some pretty good shots of Mads if they had turned out, but at least a few of them did. And as for the others, they have a spooky charm about them too.
